Run digital signage on a Fire TV Stick

A Fire TV Stick is an inexpensive way to turn any HDMI TV into a sign. Digital Sign Cast runs in the Fire TV browser, so there is no special app to sideload.

No credit card to start. Paid plans include a 10-day free trial.

Set up in four steps

  • Install a web browser on the Fire TV (for example Silk, or Firefox from the Amazon Appstore) and open it
  • Go to the player page: digitalsigncast.com/player.php
  • Note the 6-digit code shown on screen
  • In your dashboard add a screen and enter the code. Content starts playing within seconds

Tips for reliable playback

  • Use the browser's fullscreen mode, and set the player page as the home page or a bookmark
  • In Fire TV settings, turn off the screensaver and set sleep to Never
  • Use a wired Ethernet adapter if Wi-Fi is weak
  • Prefer short, compressed videos; large files can stutter on low-end sticks
  • Keep the stick powered from a wall adapter instead of the TV USB port if it reboots

What to know before you buy

This is a browser-based player, not a native Fire TV app, so launching it automatically after a power cut depends on your browser settings and is not guaranteed. For unattended installs, test a power cycle first. Other devices work the same way: Chromecast with Google TV, Android boxes, tablets and PCs.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a native Fire TV app?

Not currently. You use the browser, which keeps setup simple and means updates need no app store.

Which Fire TV models work?

Any model that can run a current web browser. Older sticks may struggle with heavy video, so test with your own content.

Does it work offline?

The player keeps showing already-downloaded content if the connection drops, then reconnects automatically.
